Defending Your Life“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21) Since God and His Word are one, we believers need to get real about using the creative power of words. We need to put them to work for us like God does for the Bible says in Romans 4:17 that God uses words to “call those things which do not exist as though they did.” Does this sound like lying? NO, for a lie is meant to deceive, to make someone believe something that’s not true. But speaking by faith is speaking words that agree with the Word of God instead of The Facts of Life. It is speaking from your transformed spirit instead of your carnal mind, from the supernatural instead of The Natural. 2 Corinthians 4:13 says, “And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, ‘I believed and therefore I spoke,’ we also believe and therefore speak.” There are many who speak the words but don’t have the faith in the Word of God because they don’t really believe, and as a result, they fail. They didn’t call things that do not exist as though they were. They called things that do not exist the way they wished they were. The words may sound the same, but wishing alone without believing won’t accomplish anything. Since death and life are in the power of your tongue, start Defending Your Life not with Albert Brooks, but by bringing your tongue and heart in line with the Word of God and speak words that agree with His Word. Stop being Like Mike, stop telling it like it is, be fruitful with your tongue and start speaking and believing the rich promises in the Word of God.
