Pay It Forward“So
let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of
necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all
grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in
all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” Cheerful, faithful,
joyful and expectant giving is the key that unlocks the vast treasures
of God for God loves a cheerful, joyous, prompt-to-do-it giver. You
don’t need to give like John Mellencamp till it Hurts So Good, for God
doesn’t want gifts given in pain. God only wants gifts given in joy.
In fact, those are the only kinds of gifts that please Him and make
Him release His blessing on the cheerful giver. God would rather you
give $100 If you haven’t given cheerfully in the past, then learn to do it now for if you don’t sow, you will not reap. God is the biggest Giver there is and you simply can’t outgive God. Everything God created gives, the sun gives light, the plants give food, the animals give meat, the fish give protein, and on and on. We are very ungodly when we refuse to give when we have the ability to do so. Giving is the only proof that the cancer of greed has not consumed your soul. Don’t be greedy like Gordon Gekko, Enron, Worldcom, and many CEOs and CFOs out there who can cook the books better than Martha Stewart. Repent for all the times you’ve given grudgingly, stingily or not at all. Spend time with God and His Word so you can give from a glad and willing heart. Put the pain of giving behind, be like Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt and Pay It Forward and encourage others to do the same.
