One Fine DayThis is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24) We all go through trials and tribulations of life, but we need to learn like Paul in whatever state we are to be content (Philippians 4:11). The psalmist said that every day is from God because He made it, and He expects us to be content, rejoice and be glad in it. Contentment means no complaining, accepting our lot in life. Instead of contending like Joan Allen in The Contender, we should be contenting. The key to being content is to live each day by faith in the Word of God and stand on His promises. The Apostle Paul also told us to renew our minds and think on whatsoever things are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, and if there is any virtue, and if there is any thing praiseworthy meditate on these things (Philippians 4:8). Don’t Worry, Be Happy, for God can make each day of your life One Fine Day with more joy than George Clooney or Michelle Pfeiffer can deliver. Worrying is a sin because it demonstrates a lack of faith and worse yet, worrying will get you on the Road to Perdition. Half the things you worry about never come to pass and the other half you can’t do anything about, so why worry? Don’t be a Cast Away like Tom Hanks but cast ALL your cares to God, for He cares for you. You may not be on Temptation Island, but the temptation to worry and complain is there. Be a Survivor, determined to be content and rest in the goodness of God. Don’t be like Tom Cruise, but meditate on the Minority Report that are good and uplifting rather than the prevailing depressing and discouraging news, and then, and only then, will you The Contenter have the peace of God that surpasses understanding.
