Midnight Cowboy

“I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the LORD, who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel” (Isaiah 45:3)

Many miracles in the Bible occur at midnight for it is always darkest before dawn. The darkest hours of our lives, ironically, are the times when God shows Himself strong with a miracle. It was midnight when all the firstborn males of Egypt were killed in the story of Exodus, but God protected the children of Israel. It was again at midnight when Paul and Silas began singing and praising God while in chains, and He sent an earthquake
to free them from prison in the first ever version of Jailhouse Rock.

The prophet Isaiah tells us that God has hidden treasures in darkness. If you’re in a time of darkness, light up with the Word of God and look for the treasure buried in that darkness. 2 Corinthians 4:17 says, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” This Scripture is loaded with power and victory because it talks about your midnight, your problem as being the ingredient for your glory. The problem is light, not heavy, and it is only for a moment, not forever. No trial is forever. Tough times don’t last, but tough people, people strengthened by the Word of God, do. Midnight is miracle time and midnight is time for you to be a Midnight Cowboy like Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman. Believe in the Word and prepare to receive the supernatural provisions God has for you, and you’ll never have to hustle anyone again!
