Soul Food

“Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart.” (Jeremiah 15:16).

The prophet Jeremiah discovered the joy of eating the Word of God for the Word feeds his soul. The soul is comprised of the mind, the will and the emotion. God is into soul prosperity in 3 John 2 and He wants us to have A Beautiful Mind, a mind like Him, not like Russell Crowe. He wants our mind to be renewed with the Word, our will to conform to His will and our emotions to be full of love, peace, joy, goodness and other fruits of the Holy Spirit. When our soul prospers, “He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies” (Romans 8:11). The Greek word for life here is zoe, which means abundant life, the God kind of life that we all should be living.

When our soul prospers because we have so much of God’s Word in us, because we have more Soul Food than Vanessa Williams, Vivica Fox, or Nia Long can dish out, then we will have good health and prosperity God’s way. Then the rest of the world will want to be like us, and then we can tell them about the good news of salvation as well as having the resources to finance the preaching of the gospel. That is the God-given purpose of prosperity, not to hoard money and pursue materialism and hedonism – fancy cars, big houses, works of art, toys, jets, yachts, pretty women and self-aggrandizing parties. Feed yourself with Soul Food by reading your Bible, these emails and say this prayer “Heavenly Father, may my soul prosper as I spend time with Your Word, and may my life be fruitful, healthy and prosperous as a result. Thank You for giving me A Beautiful Mind as I lose my mind and take on Yours. Amen.”
