Road to Perdition“Depart! Depart! Go out from there, touch no unclean thing; go out from the midst of her, be clean, you who bear the vessels of the LORD.” (Isaiah 52:11) You may not know it, but we’re Behind Enemy Lines like Gene Hackman for we are surrounded by a world which is ruled by satan and the dark side. We’re called to come out and be separate and touch not the unclean things of the world. This is not humanly possible but God has given us His Word. The Bible says in John 17:17, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” Sanctify means to separate unto, so what God is saying is we can be separate by the Word for the Word of God separates. When we were born again, we were separated spiritually from the kingdom of darkness and we were saved from getting on the Road To Perdition like Tom Hanks. We were also separated unto God's glorious kingdom, the kingdom of Light. Many believers let the Word do its separation but live just like everybody else. Spiritually, they’re still separated from death. But physically, financially, emotionally and mentally, they’re poor, sick, stressed, depressed, worried, dazed and confused like everyone else. But if you’ll make the Word of God number one priority in your life and live in total obedience to it, it will separate you from the poverty, oppression, fear, sickness, hatred and darkness of the world. Not only will the Word separate you from the things of this world, it will separate you unto the good and glorious things of God. Make a decision to give the Word first place in your life.
