The Master of Disguise“For
God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches
of the saints.” The Bible warns us to beware lest we be led away from the simplicity of the gospel. The first temptation of Adam by the devil disguised as a snake in the garden of Eden was to make him supposedly wiser by eating the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Today countless books are written with the demonic, satanic verses of the devil himself. The devil is not just a thief and a Big Fat Liar, he is also The Master of Disguise with more tricks, personas and speaks more languages than Dana Carvey and even more Aliases than Jennifer Garner. His crafty lies in all forms of media are cunningly devised to deceive and desensitize, to twist, confuse, pervert and warp us spiritually so that we don’t know what is true and what is right in God’s eyes. That’s why God warned us in Colossians 2:8 “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” The Bible says that God is not the author of confusion but of peace. God is a much better Author! Author! than Al Pacino and He definitely is not the author of Harry Potter. God in His infinite wisdom likes to make things simple and that’s why He gave us His Word as a reference, owner’s manual and guide. In case our conscience fails us, God gave us the Word so we’ll know what’s perverted, what’s right, what’s wrong, what’s happening and what’s up. The wisdom of this world, no matter how profound they are to us, is foolishness to God (1 Corinthians 3:19). We therefore cannot fill our hearts and minds with worldly wisdom, the foolishness of man, without it negatively affecting our spiritual life. Garbage in, garbage out — we can’t just dig through the dumpster and hang out in the gutter without getting filthy. Don’t waste time on the occult, complicated theories, fictions, eastern religions, new age and thoughts of man. The Bible is right here, inerrant, truthful, simple, direct and authored by none other than God Almighty Himself. Truth needs no disguise, enjoy God’s bestseller, get showered daily by the refreshing water of the Word that feeds your soul, renews your mind, strengthens your spirit, pacifies your heart and purifies your whole being.
