The Watcher

“Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips.”
(Psalm 141:3)

Death and life is in the power of the tongue. Loose lips sink ships. The words that we speak have tremendous power on our lives for they literally determine our future. That's why David asked God to be The Watcher of his mouth and give him lip service by being the doorman of his lips. As born-again believers, we believed with our hearts and confessed with our mouths that Jesus is Savior and Lord and we changed our lives From Here To Eternity when we speak in tongues and get baptized in the Holy Spirit. We know just how powerful our words can be, but speaking words of faith is no walk in the park and if we're not careful, we get may get a stiff upper lip. Unlike Milli Vanilli who lip synced their way into infamy with Girl You Know It's True, the only thing true is speaking the Word with our own tongues and with the force of conviction forged by relentless meditation on the Word.

The world around us is World Conned by satan and his hordes of demons and is therefore flowing the wrong way. Like the cresting Vltava river in Prague that is rushing at 30 times its natural speed, it'll flood you and sweep you away with its mighty currents of deceptions and lies. Living by faith and speaking the Word of God is like going against the grain, skiing uphill or swimming upriver. We can do it, but it's a lot of work and if we
dare relax at all we'll be drifting downriver. Decide today to set a watch over your lips. Ask God to be The Watcher, not James Spader or Keanu Reeves. Determine to speak the Word every day and feed yourself with the juicy morsels of the Word of God. In this Dog Eat Dog world, let the Word of God, not Snoop Dogg, be your watchdog and you'll go from underdog and birddog to hot dog and top dog in no time.
