“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,' says the LORD of hosts, ” If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,' says the LORD of hosts; and all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land,' says the LORD of hosts." (Malachi 3:10-12)

Tithing may be one of those things you dread doing but it is God's way of blessing His obedient children. Giving God the FIRST 10% of your gross, before tax income demonstrates that He's Number One in your life, not the taxman, the bills, the wife, the kids, the creditors, or the 401k. It serves notice to God that He is the source of your prosperity, and not the works of your hands. Tithing is an act of obedience to please God for God wants to see if you love what you think is your money or if you Truly, Madly, Deeply love Him and obey His commands. Those who are smart enough to tithe are guaranteed the seven blessings of God:

1. “open for you the windows of heaven”is a promise of spiritual edification and revival in your life. 2. "pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it" is a promise of abundance and Supersized prosperity. 3. “I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes” is a promise that God will paralyze the devil on your behalf so he won't eat your seed. 4. “so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground” is a promise that God will not allow the devil to touch your finances and business. 5. “not shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field” is a promise that your family and children is protected and will not suffer harm or lack. 6. “all nations will call you blessed” is a promise that your prosperity will display the goodness of God in your life to others so you can save them. 7. “for you will be a delightful land”is a promise that God highly desires you and will use you, favor you and anoint you for His Majesty's service.

You should bring your tithes into the storehouse, that is, your church or any ministry that feeds you with the meat of the Word of God. Giving to charities or the needy is nice, but that is not tithing. And until you've tithed, you cannot make an offering for an offering is anything ABOVE the tithe. The size of your offering determines the size of the blessing that God will rain down on your life. Your tithe becomes a Magnum Force with more punch than Clint Eastwood or Dirty Harry in the hand of God to rebuke the devourer, the seed eater, and to destroy the works of the devil. Without Daryl Hannah, it becomes The Tithe That Binds you to the covenant promises of God and erects a hedge of protection around you and your family. God is not after your money at all for He owns all the silver, all the gold, and the cattle on a thousand hills, but He is after your disobedience, lack and poverty. For a mere 10%, which is much less than the taxes you pay, God will bless, increase and protect you in every area of your life and recompense you much more than the 10% of His money that you return to Him in obedience.
