Sweet
Smell of Success
This Book of the Law [the Word of God] shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to DO according to ALL that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Joshua 1:8) Unlike Burt Lancaster
or Tony Curtis, God has given us a recipe for the Sweet Smell of Success
that will make us winners. It is the same instructions that He gave
to Joshua concerning the leadership of Israel in the Promised Land.
The plan for success that God gave to Joshua and to us today is as simple
as 123: 1) Speak the Word. 2) Meditate day and night in the Word. 3)
Do what the Word says. Sadly, many of us don't speak the God promises to prosper us if we do these three things, not one, or two, but ALL three, and we not only have success, but good success. That's why David prayed so fervently to God, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer" (Psalm 19:14) David knew that his success depended upon his meditation and confession of the Word. David had experienced a tremendous victory because of meditating on God's Word and boldly speaking the Word in the face of Goliath. Anyone can shout after victory, but it takes faith and obedience to shout before the walls of Jericho fall. The important thing
in faith confession is that the Word of God must be the foundation,
as we must be diligent to study the Word to know the truth and DO God's
will. Then God will perform what we say, because He is faithful to keep
His Word. Whenever we seek God's help, begin to speak God's Word believing
He will bring it to pass. At the same time, we must stop speaking negative
words that are contrary to the Word. Ask God to be The Watcher of our
lips as David did, "Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth, keep watch
over the door of my lips." (Psalm 141:3) When we speak God's Copyright © 2002 Eddy Ministries. All rights reserved. Subscribe/Unsubscribe:
