Cast
Away
"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:6-7) The Bible tells
us to cast ALL our cares, our worries and problems, upon God, for He
cares for us. That's right, we are to Cast Away the cares over to God,
not Tom Hanks or his volleyball Wilson. Believers who fear God and trust
in His Word can cope because they realize that all these trials and
tests are only temporary. They look forward to when they will shed these
bodies of sin and flesh, when there will be no more sickness, suffering
or poverty. They can't wait to be in the presence of God, for in His
presence God is our deliverer and He told us in Matthew 6:33-34 to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness (God's way of doing things and being right), and then all the things we seek will be added to us. Further, God told us to not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Like James Bond, Tomorrow Never Dies and sufficient for each day is its own trouble. God fed the children of Israel daily with manna from heaven. They only receive enough manna for one day and must wait for the next day to get fed. We too must live One Day At a Time, cast our cares on God, learn to trust Him and rely on the promises in His Word. Copyright © 2002 Eddy Ministries. All rights reserved. Subscribe/Unsubscribe:
