Avengers
“Vengeance is Mine, and recompense.”(Deuteronomy 32:35) In living the drama
of life, we all get hurt, cheated, used, lied to or abused. It's as
unavoidable as it is painful, and yet when it happens most of us find
ourselves largely unprepared. In our anger, we cry out to God against
the one who wronged us. We ask for justice, or even vengeance, and end
up making things really difficult, especially for ourselves. God says
that vengeance is His, for that is His business, and He will repay for Many of us wrongly identify the enemy as the person who hurts us. Don't waste time getting mad or getting even against people who hurt you, for they're just under the devil's influence. Aim your spiritual 357 Magnum at the right target for it is that slimy devil who's behind it all. Hit the devil hard and fast with the Word of God. Use the Name of Jesus and the power that's been given you as a believer and bind the devil from doing any further damage in your life. Then pray the prayer of intercession according to Matthew 5:44-45: "Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven." Hollywood would
love for us to seek Revenge like Kevin Costner or Payback like Mel Gibson.
There was even a TV show called The Avengers. Crying out for God to
strike lightning when somebody hurts us doesn't make us godly like our
Father, for God has great mercy, and it is made fresh and new every
morning. God's infinite mercy and goodness is not just for us, but for
everyone. If we realize that the battle is not with flesh and blood,
