The Flesh Prince of Bel AirLikewise the Spirit also helps in our weakness. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered...according to the will of God. (Romans 8:26-27) We believers have a weakness because we live in a flesh and blood body, a body that just want to sin and have fun but is subject to death. A body thats subject to the sickness, disease, fear, sin, poverty and oppression of the world today. Our born-again spirit doesnt want to sin because it wants to be obedient to God and DO His Word. But the weakness of our flesh causes us to fail Survivor and Temptation Island. To maintain our royal status as the children of the Most High God, we need to build up our spirit and strengthen it until it dominates our flesh so we can be The Flesh Prince who lives in Bel Air, a wealthy neighborhood near Beverly Hills. The Bible instructs us to crucify the flesh so our spirit man can dominate our body. Praying in the Holy Spirit with the aid of the Holy Spirit so that we pray according to the will of God, not Will Smith, causes our spirit to renew our mind, purify our soul and take control over our stubborn ME-first flesh. Praying in other tongues strengthens our spirit because the devil and us dont know what were talking about, only God does. What the devil does not understand, he cannot hinder. Our spirit is much more powerful than our flesh, and as we give it top billing, the flesh will have no choice but to yield. Many believers are overwhelmed by sin, and instead of using the firepower of the spiritual arsenal of God such as praying in the Holy Spirit, they struggle to overcome in natural ways and end up failing miserably. The good news is God hasnt commanded us to be more spiritual than we can be. God knows our weakness and He has given us a way to overcome it. He has given us the ability to pray in tongues we dont understand, and to unsheath the sword of the Spirit by speaking the Word of God. We need to commit to praying in the Holy Spirit regularly and obey Gods command in Jude 20 to build ourselves up like an edifice on our most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit.
