Where The Heart Is

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.” (Matthew 12:35)

Where The Heart Is is not just a movie about an abandoned teenage mother with Ashley Judd and Natalie Portman. It is about the treasure of the heart that lies at the root of the battle of good and evil. Many believers habitually speak evil words of fear, worry, doubt and unbelief, then they watch or hear a sermon and try to speak some faith words and expect their mountains of problems to move, and to their chagrin, the mountains just sit there. The mountains don’t move because it’s the words that come from the abundance of the heart that produce results. When we utter a few faith words here and there, we are not speaking them from the abundance of our heart, that’s why they don’t move mountains. It takes both ingrained words based on the Word of God, and faith working together to put the law of faith to work powerfully on our behalf.

Speaking the Word of God from the abundance of our heart is a powerful spiritual weapon. If we want to receive healing by faith, then we need to direct our mind and mouth on the Word of God where health is concerned. Forget about how painful or sick we are in the natural, speak boldly the words of Isaiah 53:5, “Jesus was wounded for my transgressions, He was bruised for my iniquities, the chastisement of my peace [wholeness, nothing broken, nothing missing] was upon Him, and with His stripes, thank you LORD, I am not just healed but made whole body, soul, spirit, relationships and finances.” If we’ll meditate on and speak the Word daily, the Word sowed in our heart will grow and eventually we'll be speaking from the abundance of our heart. When our heart is strong, it doesn’t matter what the problems are for we’ll receive what we believe, and we’ll start seeing those mountains turn into mole hills like never before.
