Colors

“Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, 'Thus says the Lord God: 'Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.' ... and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.” (Ezekiel 37:9-10)

Colors is not just a cop movie with Sean Penn and Robert Duvall about gangs. It is the story of favor in the life of Joseph. The Bible tells us that Jacob loved Joseph more than any of his 12 sons and because of this he was given a robe of many colors. Each tribe had its own color and Joseph's robe not only included each of their colors but gave him
authority over each of the tribes. Long before Dreamworks ever existed, Joseph was being set apart, and was being set up to a divine purpose and a divine suffering that would mold a man of character who could handle the incredible anointing and glory of God to save the world as The Prince of Egypt. Joseph's life was difficult for 13 years but he never wavered from his purpose and he was free from bitterness. The Joseph generation will not allow pain and suffering to compromise their love for God and his purposes for them. They turn their scars into stars, they become better, not bitter. Joseph's willingness to endure hardship and even the loss of his family resulted in another favor from his father. He received a double portion of blessing that came back to his family, which far outweighed all the other blessings that were given that day through Israel.

As the children of Israel left Egypt the favored tribe of Joseph became the powerful lost tribes of Manasseh and Ephraim. Their portions in the Promise Land were as significant as any other tribes, and when they ask Joshua for more, they got it. After 911 and the debut of Bruce Springsteen's The Rising, there is a generation rising, a faithful
generation of many tribes of many colors that has endured the difficulty of standing on God's promises without any evidence of fulfillment. Joseph wisely asked that his bones be brought back to the Promise Land for he understood the anointing of God rested on his life and bones. Joseph had no ability other than that which God gave him, and all the hardship had allowed for the favor of God in his life that he wanted to leave as an
inheritance for his people. Joseph wanted the anointing of His life, that is, the favor, wisdom, and wealth of God, to be transferred to the people of Israel. We are living in the last days where the Holy Spirit is being poured out with great power and glory as the four winds are beginning to blow on the Body of Christ and the tribe of Joseph is about to rise and take back what the devil has stolen.
