Face Off

“So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend”
(Exodus 33:11)

Unlike so many others in the Bible, God described Moses as a FOG, a friend of God, because he met God face to face. Sadly, may of us spend less time seeking God's face than we do seeking the goodies in His hand. God wants us to seek Him for our every need, but the highest calling is for us to seek God's face, and to see Him for His love and tenderness toward us as His children. God can provide for our material needs, but when we see Him face to face, we are changed from glory to glory, from one degree of glory
to another to be more like our Father in heaven. We no longer see Him as one to be feared as much as one to know and to love intimately. We should no longer view God for what He can do for us, but for what He has already given us through the gift of salvation purchased with the precious Blood of His Son Jesus.

When we see God face to face, we are no longer slaves, but friends, and it's nice to have friends in high places. With a friend like God, we need not fear our enemies of sickness, terror, oppression, debt and poverty. We need not fear God as a slave fears his master because we have an Up Close And Personal relationship better than Robert Redford that has mutual love, respect and devotion. As friends, God will reveal the deep things of God
to us, the kind of insider information that Martha Stewart can never get and the authorities can never prosecute. After the spiritual wakeup call of 911, God is calling us to seek His face, not just His hand. When we seek God's face, we will experience His abundant provision, His glory, His power and His tender mercy in all aspects of life. Don't be like John Travolta or Nicolas Cage in Face Off, strive to seek God's face every day like Moses by spending time in prayer and meditation on the Word of God and become a friend of God.
