Big Trouble

“You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.” (Psalm 32:7)

In this day and age with suicide bombers, snipers, anthrax, West Nile and the beating drums of war, Big Trouble is not just a Tim Allen movie that bombed at the box office. Trouble of every kind seems to surround us. If it's not our empty bank account or 401k, it's a failing business, a drifting marriage, or ill health. Yet, in the midst of overwhelming
problems, God has already promised in His Word to be our hiding place, to preserve us from trouble and deliver us, even from extra-terrestrial bodies like planet X, comets or asteroids. But if you want God to be God of your trouble, then you must let Him be God in your heart. God only honors those who honor Him. If you're facing problems, don't start screaming and begging Him to save you from them.

Honor Him by dusting your Bible, meditating on His Word and doing what He says to DO. Psalm 34:4 is a good place to start, for it says to seek God. As you seek Him, He will deliver you from the things that threaten you. Secondly, it tells you to cry out to God. He will save you out of ALL your troubles in verse 6. Then it instructs you to fear God. Psalm 34:11-14 tell you how: Keep from speaking evil and deceit; depart from evil and do
good; seek peace and pursue it. If you want God to be God of your trouble, if you want Big Trouble to go direct-to-video and not bother you, let Him be the God of your heart. When you do that, all of the Salvation Army of heaven, all the angelic hosts of the universe will get involved in your deliverance, and your triumph over your trials will be a foregone conclusion.
