Booty Call

“When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much.”(2 Chronicles 20:25)

King Jehoshaphat was Under Siege not by Steven Seagal, but by three hostile armies of Amnon, Moab and Mount Seir with superior forces. Undaunted, he called the people together and they began to pray, fast, and repent of the things they had done wrong. God then sent a messenger to speak to Jehoshaphat, "Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's." When Jehoshaphat sent
singers to sing praises to God, God set ambushes against the three invading armies, and they killed one another until they were ALL dead. When Jehoshaphat's army visited the battlefield, they gathered up the spoils or booties of battle, such as jewelry, garments, armor, weapons and money. There was so much that it took three days to collect it all, and on the fourth day they blessed God, named the place Valley of Berachah or
Valley of Blessings, and thanked God for delivering them supernaturally and abundantly.

This is the kind of Booty Call, the kind full of blessings that we don't even have to fight for, that we'll get if we allow God, not Jamie Foxx, to be Number One in our lives. When the battle against debt, poverty, sickness or oppression is raging, we must remember that the battle is not ours, but God's. The devil is not Mad About You like Helen Hunt, he is mad at God, and the only way he can get to God is through you and me. When that loser satan is waging war against us, stand tall on the promises of the Word of God and proclaim, "I can do what God said I can do, and I can have what God said I can have, in Jesus' Name." The story of Jehoshaphat tells us that we do not have to be paralyzed with fear when we face a battle for The Sum of All Fears is a big fat zero if God is with us. We
should relax and rest in the goodness of God, praise Him, thank Him and speak His Word, collect the Booty of war from the enemies afflicting us after the victory, for the battle is not ours but it is God's.
