Nobody’s Fool

“For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools [those who don’t obey God’s Word] shall destroy them” (Proverbs 1:32).

The Bible says that “Evil pursues sinners, but to the righteous, good shall be repaid. A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children. But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous” (Proverbs 13:21-22). God wants to bless us with so much wealth from the sinners that we have not just an inheritance for our children, but for our granchildren as well. The wealth of the sinners in Wall Street, Hollywood, Vegas, Madison, Fifth and Park Ave—indeed the wealth of ALL those including churchgoers who don’t obey the Word or put God FIRST, will be transferred to His faithful children who had been obedient to His Word and made righteous by the Blood of Jesus. The devil has had us in a poverty mentality and bound us in debt and lack for such a long time that it's hard for us to fathom just how immensely and intensely God wants to prosper us because He wants to keep His covenant in Deuteronomy 8:18 so we can be a blessing to others and finance the preaching of the Word to untold billions, to fulfill the Great Commission to spread the gospel of salvation.

God made Abraham an extremely wealthy man, for Genesis 13:2 says he was rich in cattle, in silver and in gold. God’s servant Job possessed such great wealth that he was called the greatest of all the men of the East. Then after the devil destroyed all that he had, God blessed him with more than twice what had been stolen. King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom. Just the thought of the kind of wealth God gave to those men, however, scares most believers today. They’re afraid it would destroy them because they don’t know the Word of God intimately so they don’t understand the purpose of wealth. But that doesn’t mean you should avoid being prosperous. It means you should avoid being a fool who despises wisdom and instruction of the Word in Proverbs 1:7. Let the Holy Spirit help you search the Book of Proverbs so that you will take instruction and stop being a fool living a life without obeying the Word of God. Be like Paul Newman and be Nobody’s Fool and if you see ways in which you've been a fool, repent and let the Word of God inspire you to leave foolishness behind and stir up the faith to receive what you, as a redeemed child of the God, have a divine right to—not the curse of poverty, but the blessing of prosperity.
