Die Hard With a Vengeance

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn.” (Isaiah 61:1-3)

If you are in debt, in poverty, in fear, in sickness or in oppression, then the time has come for every rough patch in your life to be comforted, for the day of vengeance has come. Everything that is working against your comfort and whatever is causing you to mourn is cursed right now for God will give you beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for mourning. You don’t have to be a Bruce Willis to be Die Hard With A Vengeance, for God is in the vengeance business and whatever has worked against you, heaven will work against it. The day of vengeance is a time when God will render justice and recompense to His children, and God is about to comfort all those who mourn, and they are us. According to Luke 4:18-19, the ministry of Jesus stopped at proclaiming the acceptable year of the LORD (where free favors and salvation abound), while the ministry of the Holy Spirit under the Church that begins at Pentecost starts with the day of God’s vengeance and the comforting of those who mourn.

Proverbs 11:31 says that the righteous will be recompensed in the earth, not in heaven, not in the sweet by and by, but right here and right now, where even the ungodly and the sinners will see it. We will all see justice before we go to heaven, that is, whatever we have done, given, lost or suffered will be returned to us for this is the character of God and His way of doing things. Our part to play in the day of vengeance is not to repay anyone evil for evil. If our enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him a drink. Vengeance is the Lord's and He will repay. Our job is to refrain from rejoicing over the suffering of our enemy, to love him and to walk in godly character toward him. We are to not be overcame by evil, but to overcome evil with good according to Romans 12:17-21. Then, and only then, will we be visited by the recompense of God. Meditate on these verses of Scripture and purpose your life to receive great compensation for payday is here and the paymaster is none other than God Almighty Himself. God is so rich and so giving He has no need to cook the books to steal from you or Enron you. The favor of God is on you right now. Declare this every day until you get paid: “I walk in the favor of God and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, and my recompense, my harvest cometh to me NOW.”
