“So David recovered all that the Amelekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives. And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or any thing which they had taken from them; David recovered ALL.” (1 Samuel 30:18-19)

Before Sharon Stone discovered her Basic Instinct, she had a small part in the Arnold Schwarzenegger science fiction movie Total Recall. Our God in heaven sees all the trials and tribulations we are going through and if we seek His counsel, we too can have a Total Recall and recovery of all the things that the devil may have stolen from us. In 1 Samuel chapter 30 David and his men lost everything when the Amalekites burned Ziklag to the
ground and taken the women and children captives. David and his men lost all they had, including their possessions and their families. They lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep. David was greatly distressed for the people spoke of stoning him, because they were grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters. But David did the right thing when he strengthened himself in the LORD his God.

Enquiring minds want to know, so David enquired of the LORD, saying, 'Shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them?' And God answered, 'Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.' David followed the guidance of God and got back everything that was lost. It is Basic Instinct for us to pursue after the enemy, but
David did not do this before he seek the instruction of God. God in His infinite wisdom has the solution to any problem we may face but we can only get it after we come to God's presence by seeking His Word. Don't get depressed and weep, seek God's face and get counsel from God through His Word and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. God is in the lost and found business, He will not help us to recover the two wives, but He certainly will help us to recover everything else if we seek after Him.
