Where The Money Is

“Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who delights greatly in His commandments [the Word of God]. His descendants will be mighty on earth, the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness [his covenant with God] endures forever.” (Psalm 112:1-3)

In the movie Where The Money Is Paul Newman portrays an aging bank robber who fakes a stroke to get out of prison so he can steal more money. In the notorious North Hollywood shootout in 1997, two bank robbers armed to the teeth lost their lives because that's where the money is. God, however, doesn't think so for He is the source of all the wealth and riches that we can ever want and He has promised that to anyone who fears Him and delights in His Word. Although many believe that God doesn't promise us
physical prosperity, only spiritual, the truth is, they are inseparable. Jesus says in Matthew 6:33 that if we'll seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, then all the material things that we want will be added to us. Ever since Genesis, the spiritual realm and the material realm have always been interconnected.

The physical world cannot operate independently from the spiritual world, because what happens in one realm is a mirror image of what happens in the other. Our spiritual standing in the eyes of God profoundly affects our financial standing. According to 3 John 2, when we meditate on the Word day and night and begin to prosper spiritually and our soul prospers because our mind is renewed by God's Word, we'll begin to prosper
physically and materially as well. The really good news about God's promises of prosperity is that we don't have to choose between financial, physical or spiritual prosperity. They all belong to us and we can lay claim to them by faith. As born-again children of the Most High God, speak the Word over our circumstances and dare to receive the health, favor, wealth and riches that rightfully belong to us.
