Vision Quest

Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” (Habakkuk 2:2-3)

In the 1985 movie Vision Quest, Matthew Modine played a high school wrestler who needed to go down two weight class to take on the state champion, but he met a woman
along the way. God’s idea of Vision Quest is to simply write down the vision, make it plain and clear so we can run with it, read it and just wait until the appointed time.

Romans 4:17 tells us that God calls those things which be not as though they were. God created the world in Genesis by speaking words. He created light by simply saying
in Hebrew ‘Light, be!’ or the more well-known ‘Let there be light.’ Mark 11:23 says if we believe that those things we say will come to pass, we’ll have whatever we SAY.

We need to take these Scriptures literally and begun to say things over and over again, because if we’re not saying anything, we’re not creating anything. Unlike Harrison Ford,
we will not be a Clear and Present Danger to the devil if we don’t brandish the sword of the Holy Spirit by speaking the Word of God over our circumstances.

The Bible teaches us to call those things which be not as though they already existed. If you don’t have healing, finances, debt cancellation, peace, favor, salvation of loved ones,
restoration of marriage, or whatever, find the promise of God that covers your situation and begin to say, “Thank God, I am out of debt, my body is healed, my family is
restored, I have plenty more to put in store.” Then keep calling it and calling it as though it already were, because things won’t change unless we say it over and over.

God wants us to write down our needs and pray over them, but we fail to plug into the power of God if we don’t also speak the Word over what we’ve written. It’s like having television without sound. Our words begin to gather critical mass over time in the spiritual realm and the answer manifests in the physical realm. It’s not just what we say once that makes it happen, but what we say over and over again. And it ain’t over until the fat lady sings, it ain’t over until God says it's over, until we have what we SAY according to His Word.
