CopycatTherefore be imitators of God as dear children [copy their father]. (Ephesians 5:1) In the 1995 movie Copycat, Sigourney Weaver played a criminal psychologist/profiler who is tracking down a serial killer who is copying the heinous crimes of infamous killers. God has much more than intellectual property, He is so generous He needs no copyright protection, and He is calling us to copy Him and follow His example as children copy their parents. We are to create new things and remove old things because we are made in the likeness of God. But for us to be good at it, we must do what our heavenly Father did at Creation. Before God began to create heaven and earth in the Book of Genesis, He envisioned a desired result, a picture, an idea or image of what He wanted to create, and then He said, Light be! and light existed. If were going to copy Him, we must envision that inner image also. As born-again children of God, God has given us the wisdom and the power to make permanent changes in our lives and in our circumstances. At creation, God wanted light so He said, Let there be light! The words God spoke were directly related to His inner image. He SPOKE His Words to get that image from the spiritual realm to manifest in the physical realm, from the inside to the outside. What we need to use as the basis for our inner image and for the words we speak is none other than the Word of God. The Word has supernatural power because it is Spirit and it is life, and if we fill that Word with our faith and speak it out loud and keep on speaking it, it will change our lives and circumstances just like it did for God. Be a good carbon copy of God and get creative. Forget about the debt, lack, sickness, shame, poverty or oppression you are going through. Dig deeply into the Word of God by meditating on it day and night and start re-creating your world today by speaking one Word at a time.Copyright © 2002 Eddy Ministries. All rights reserved.
