Life“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue [power].” (2 Peter 1: 2-3) In the 1999 comedy Life starring Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence, two men who were wrongly imprisoned in the Depression-era South became friends. Unlike Hollywood, God has a wonderful plan to give us Life like He did for Solomon. God did not allow David to build the Temple because of his sins but David made preparations for it to be built by his son Solomon. God gave Solomon great wisdom which he used to elevate Israel to immense wealth, power and glory. Solomon was born as the crown prince and was given all that was needed to be the greatest King Israel would ever have. We as adopted children of God have been born again and have been given all things that pertains to life and godliness and bring glory to God. We have been given multiplied grace to have life and to have it abundantly, with peace or wholeness, nothin broken, nothing missing. We have been given an instruction manual for life, the Bible, so we can have the knowledge of God. The Bible contains the very words of God, and they are living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword piercing even to the division our soul and spirit, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of our hearts.(Hebrews 4:12) Each Word of God is profitable for us meaning it is powerful to give us instruction and correction to do things right. The Word of God is the sword of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 6:17) and it can transform our lives when we meditate on it day and night. God the King of kings has a talk show far better than Larry King, and we have been given the unrestricted right to talk with God our Father in the Name of Jesus any time we want to. We have been born into the family of God and we are more Royal than the Tenenbaums. When we read these devotional emails, share the Word or network with another believer it is as if we were in God’s presence because our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit. God lives within each person who has received Jesus Christ as their Savior for Jesus says, “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20) God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19), and show us great and mighty things we don’t even know (Jeremiah 33:3) to help us reach our potential. We can live like God wants us to live in righteousness, godliness and holiness. We can have life, the God kind of life, abundant life, a life pressed down, shaken together, running over and overflowing with blessings beyond our imaginations. We can have It’s A Wonderful Life that Frank Capra could never direct and we can have it all if only we use what God has so generously and at great cost provided for us through the precious Blood of Jesus. Many of us are living way beneath our status as royals because we don’t know the Word of God intimately to obey it so that the windows of heaven are open and the blessing will be more than we can contain.Copyright © 2002 Eddy Ministries.
