The Two TowersGo up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified, says the LORD. (Haggai 1:8) With The Two Towers, the second installment of the Lord of the Rings trilogy raking it in at the box office, God is telling us that in the aftermath of 911 with the destruction of the two towers in New York, that it is high time for us to stop building our own towers and build His tower because our towers will fall (Isaiah 30:25). Zerubbabel was the governor of Judah 60 years after the temple built by Solomon had been destroyed in 587 BC by the Babylonians. The temple was in ruins and God asked Haggai, Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins? (Haggai 1:4) Long before the U.S. Marines or Tom Cruise who couldnt handle the truth, God was calling for A Few Good Men to stop building their own towers of profit, pleasure, power and prestige and restore the glory of Gods house, and He is doing the same thing now. Like the winner of the Powerball lottery in West Virginia who chose to tithe his lump sum winning of over $170 million dollars before taxes to three churches, God is raising up a faithful remnant who obey His Word who are being chosen to use their wealth, contacts, skills, and experience to finance the preaching of the gospel of salvation to the nations. Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel, says the LORD; and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land, says the LORD, and work, for I am with you, says the LORD of hosts. According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear! (Haggai 2:4-5). The remnant of people God is calling know that they have to exit Egypt because Egypt represents the wicked way of the world. It is the selfish flesh and it represents greed, lies, corruption, oppression, manipulation, Enron, blood, sweat and oil. Gods way, on the other hand, is exemplified by an obedient and serving spirit where we need not fear as we move in the supernatural realm. And to help us live by faith in the promises of His Word, God has given us the gift of His Holy Spirit to comfort, guide, teach, strengthen, intercede and help us. Are you among the few and the proud that God has selected in these last days to receive the vast wealth transfer from the wicked (Proverbs 13:22) so you can build His tower? Has God shaken your tower and plucked you out of the rat race of Egypt to do great things for Him? As you meditate on the Word of God daily, ask God how He wants to use you for His glory, then act on the Word and be strong in the LORD and the power of His might.Copyright © 2002 Eddy Ministries.
