Live and Let Die“He
shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him,
and show him My salvation.” Before James Bond learned in 2002 that he can Die Another Day, he was sent to stop a heroin magnate who specialized in voodoo economics in 1973’s Live and Let Die. God’s Word says the same thing for it is not God’s will for us to die young. The world may say only the good die young with examples like Bruce Lee, James Dean and JFK, but God’s will for us is to live the full number of our years. We ought to live 90 or 100 years, and even 120 like Moses. The Bible says in Genesis 25:7-8 that when Abraham died, he died at 175 a good old age, full of years. God is no respecter of persons, and that’s the way it should be with all of us. Many believers get sick and instead of believing God for healing and speaking the Word over their bodies, they start wondering if it’s God’s will for them to die. God willing, He won’t call you home until you’re good and ready. The Apostle Paul emphasized that in 2 Timothy 4:6-7, “For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Paul didn’t die until he finished nearly 2/3 of the New Testament and planted many churches on his missionary travels all over the Roman Empire, and he didn’t go until God was ready for him to go. The devil is a liar and the circumstances of life must yield to the finality and veracity of the Word of God. Regardless of your health, if the devil is telling you God isn’t going to heal you of AIDS, cancer or heart disease because it’s time for you to go, he is lying to you. God promises in Psalm 91 that if you are living under the shadow of El Elyon the Most High God, abiding in Him by meditating on and obeying His Word (John 15), He will not only satisfy you with long life but also show you His salvation. If you’re not satisfied that you have finished your humanitarian or evangelism work here on earth, if you have not done much giving or tithing to finance the preaching of the gospel of salvation to the nations so the lost or backslidden will get saved, then it’s not time for you to go. The harvest is ripe, and as long as there are billions of Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, agnostics, hedonists, homosexuals, idolaters, atheists, and Rolling Stones fans who have not received Jesus as Lord and Saviour, then we all have much work to do and souls to reap for the kingdom of God. Resist sickness, disease, oppression, lack and poverty in the mighty Name of Jesus. Stand on God’s promises in His Word until you’re ready to get beamed up to heaven, but go satisfied, healed, whole, full of years, and go in victory.Copyright © 2002 Eddy Ministries.
