Anlayze This

“Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor My righteous cause; and let them say continually, ‘Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.’” (Psalm 35:27)

In the 1999 mob comedy Analyze This, Billy Crystal plays a psychiatrist whose top patient Robert DeNiro is an insecure mob boss. God in His Word also wants us to analyze this, that God wants us to prosper. Over the years, tradition has taught that God wants us poor and oppressed, but the Bible clearly says that God takes pleasure in our prosperity. For richer or poorer, and believe it or not, God really wants us to prosper not just in the financial but in every area of life – spirit, soul, body and relationships. God wants to see us delivered from the adverse situations of sickness, debt, poverty and oppression because He loves us as Big Daddy and He has a righteous cause for us to do.

God wants us to do humanitarian work and fulfill the Great Commission to go into all the world and preach the gospel to very creature (Mark 16:15). God knows that this takes a vast sum of money that He will transfer to the faithful and righteous remnant from the sinners (Proverbs 13:22) and we can’t give away what we don’t have. We can’t give offerings and tithe to churches and ministries to spread the gospel of salvation so that billions of lost souls will get saved, house the homeless, teach the orphans or feed the hungry when we’re so broke we can't even pay attention.

We can’t lay hands on the sick to release the anointing of healing (James 5:14) when we’re being ravaged by sickness and disease. We can’t share laughter and joy to others when we’re being held captive by suicide, addiction, issues, attitudes or depression. The truth from the Word of God that we don’t have to analyze much is that we have to be blessed to be a blessing, so if you really want to tap into the unimaginable riches of God today, make up your mind to be a blessing to others, and before you know it, you’ll be receiving more from God than you’ve ever dreamed.

If you decide today, first and foremost, to be a giver and develop a lifestyle of giving, that is live to give, then in no time God will open the windows of heaven and unload blessings on you by the truckload. The more you give with what little you have, the more riches God will entrust you with so you can give more because He knows your heart. Decide to become the servant of God when you lay down your time, talent, treasure and love for those who need it. God is a giver, so be like God when you become a giver, and God will take pleasure in taking you not just From Here To Eternity, but from here to prosperity.
