The Crush“For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. You have also given me the necks of my enemies, so that I destroy those who hated me.” (Psalm 18:39-40) In the 1993 Alicia Silverstone movie The Crush, a journalist is the object of infatuation by his landlady’s 14-year-old daughter who wouldn’t take no for an answer. The devil does not like for us to know this, but he has already been crushed at the neck, subdued and defeated by Jesus 2000 years ago. After his ascension to heaven, Jesus has already given us all the power, authority and the keys of the kingdom so we can live in victory and prosperity. He further promised us that whatever we bind on earth is bound or locked in heaven and whatever we loose on earth is loosed or released in heaven (Matthew 16:19). We can speak the Word of God and in the mighty Name of Jesus bind wicked demonic spirits that are wrecking havoc on our bodies, souls, spirits, relationships and finances. Similarly, we can speak the Word and loose the angelic forces of heaven to work in our behalf, bringing us favor, provision, protection and reaping our harvest. (Psalm 103:20-21) We’ve also been given the power of attorney that allows us to use the mighty Name of Jesus, THE Name that is far above poverty, sickness, debt, oppression and every other name that afflicts us. A Name which will cause every knee to bow in heaven, on earth, and under the earth (Philippians 2:9-10). After The Crush, we don’t need to waste any time worrying about the devil or our circumstances. Take authority over him, and bind evil spirits that try to destroy our marriage, our children, our business, our possession, our finances, our church, and our nation. Loose the Word of God on earth, enforce it with the Name of Jesus, and command legions of angels to minister to us our salvation (Hebrews 1:14) and fight our battles for us. We hold the keys to the kingdom of God and we are much more than conquerors (Romans 8:37) since Jesus did all the conquering for us and gave us the fruits of victory. We need to learn to use these keys proficiently as we meditate on the Word of God daily so we can live in victory and keep that crushed devil under our feet.Copyright © 2002 Eddy Ministries.
