Sexual HealingSo it was, when they had finished circumcising all the people, that they stayed in their places in the camp till they were healed. (Joshua 5:8) Long before Marvin Gaye made famous the song Sexual Healing of the 1980s, God had an even more powerful story in the Book of Joshua. Before the children of Israel could go into the Promised Land they had to be circumcised with knives made from The Flintstones (Joshua 5:2), and then they had to wait not for Fred and Wilma to come home, but until they all received their sexual healing. Circumcision is the unkindest cut of all and it is painful, bloody, and personal. Spiritually, God requires us to
be circumcised in the heart to remove all the rough edges and hardened
arteries of the flesh and SELF before we can enter and receive the blessings
of the Promised Land. Circumcision requires giving up the old sinful
ways of life in order to draw us closer to God. Consequently, we must
wait until we are healed before we are ready for our mission. If we
launch out too early, we may risk infection or disease and will not
be effective in our calling for God's kingdom. Copyright © 2002 Eddy Ministries. All rights reserved. Subscribe/Unsubscribe: eddyn@earthlink.net
