Gimme A BreakSo they went up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them [the Philistines] there. Then David said, God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim [Master of breakthroughs]. (1 Chronicles 14:11) In the 1981-87 TV show Gimme A Break, Nell Carter played a black housekeeper who kept house and acted as surrogate mother to a widowers three girls. Nell Carter is no longer with us, but God has promised in His Word to not just give us a break, but a mighty breakthrough like the bursting forth of waters. As we reach out our hand in faith, we can expect God to break in upon our enemies just like He did for David, and our breakthrough will come like the powerful breakthrough of waters when a dam breaks. As we punch a hole in the wall of problems, no dam will be able to hold us back. All we have to do is dig one hole with our faith and with the Word of God, then keep punching away at that hole by speaking out that faith day after day. We must never quit because Gods angelic forces are behind us like an ocean. Each time we speak a word of faith, they leak through. The more we speak the Word of God and the more we pray, the bigger that leak will get. McDonalds may say that we deserve a break today, but we can leave those fatty fries alone and Supersize our breakthrough right now by saying, Father God, I rejoice that You are Baal Perazim, the Lord of my breakthrough. I thank You that the mighty flood of Your divine power is about to overwhelm my life like the breaking of a dam. I know there is no problem that can stand against it. Sickness, debt, oppression, addiction and poverty must give way. Divorce, children and other family problems can't stand against it. There is absolutely nothing that defeated devil can do to stop me. I praise You for the victory and I receive it now in Jesus Name. Amen. As we keep praying and keep believing, the cracks will begin to appear and trickles of water will come through. And before we know it, the forces of heaven will come bursting through like a flood, crushing every obstacle in their path to deliver us from our problems, to minister to us our salvation and prosperity, and to make us much more than conquerors.
