Return to MeTherefore say to them, Thus says the LORD of hosts: Return to Me, says the LORD of hosts, and I will return to you, says the LORD of hosts. (Zechariah 1:3) In the 2000 movie Return To Me starring David Duchovny and Minnie Driver, a man falls in love with a woman who received his wife's heart and must decide which woman really holds his heart. God too is saying from heaven return to Me because many of us have wandered away from God: All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way. (Isaiah 53:6) We have become double-minded knowing what we should be doing and what God wants us to do and be but instead we are busy doing and being something else. Some of us even join the U.S. Army to be all that we can be instead of doing what God wants us to be in His Word. We have turned away from the love of God like the Jews at the time of the prophet Malachi or about 400 BC (Malachi 1:2). We dishonor God by our lack of reverence
and despise His Name by not giving Him our very best (Malachi 1:6-8).
We only give God lip service (Malachi 2:17) and rob God by not returning
to Him His tithes and offerings (Malachi 3:8) to support His storehouse
(Malachi 3:10) ministries that are feeding us with the Word of God.
We speak against Him by walking in the worlds way instead of Gods
way. (Malachi 3:13-15) The story of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15 is about those of us who have wandered away from God with Tom Hanks on the Road to Perdition. When the humbled prodigal decided to return home he found a loving father waiting to put the best robe, the signet ring of authority and sandals on him. God is full of compassion and mercy so dont just sit there, return to God, draw near to Him and get back on the Highway to Heaven. Meditate on His Word day and night so we can renew our minds and prosper our souls. And as our souls prosper with A Beautiful Mind, we will prosper and be in health according to 3 John 2. To return to God simply pray this out loud: Heavenly Father, forgive me for my double-mindedness and for how I have offended you by my sinful actions and selfish inactions. I want to return to You, draw near to You, and obey Your Word now. Fill me with the Holy Spirit, guide me with Your Word and help me to be ALL that You want me to be. In Jesus mighty Name, Amen.
