Valentine

“And we have known and believed the love [agape] that God has for us. God is LOVE....” (1 John 4:16)

On this Valentine’s Day God has a word for you – that He loves you very much with His agape kind of love, the love that gives and just keep on giving like the Energizer bunny. Yes, we’ve read about God’s love and we’ve heard about it. But many of us have not really believed in it. If we did, it would totally change everything about us and everything around us.

It’s that agape love that caused Jesus to lay down His life for us at the cross and to experience for Himself all the pains, sufferings, poverty and weaknesses we experience. It’s that love that says to us, even when we feel so unworthy, “Come to Me, take up My light yoke, enjoy My peace [wholeness], enter into My rest and get what you need. Cast all your cares on Me. Come boldly to My throne of grace so that you may obtain mercy [chesed] and find grace to help in time of need.”

God is LOVE and He is in love with YOU – so in love, He’s given you ALL that He has! He’s given you all the healing, promotion, wisdom, wealth, favor, increase, blessing and strength you could ever need. No lawyer can even come close to getting you what God has in store for you. His agape love is eternal, does not wilt like roses, does not melt like chocolates, and lasts much longer than a De Beers diamond. God does not ask you to sign a prenuptial, nuptial or postnuptial agreement. All He wants is for you to be in agreement with His Word. And God is faithful, He won’t leave you ice cold like Hillary because of Bill’s Black Pants Down. Can your Valentine ever love you like God does, without any condition, without any strings, without doing an Enron?

“But what about my sins and my past?” That’s what His mercy is for! It’s taken care of your past. It’s covered every sin and failure you ever had. You don't have to be an American Beauty, Legally Blonde, Almost Famous with a Beautiful Mind and good In The Bedroom for God to love you. All you have to do is believe and receive His love. What a tragedy it is that people suffer at the hands of sickness, poverty, disease, oppression and other curses just because they can’t believe the love God has for them. Do not let that happen to you. Learn to believe the love God has so that you can receive it and enjoy it. Don’t clam up like Kenneth Lay, boldly tell others about God’s love. Don't take the Fifth, but tell others about the Fifth dimension that transcends space and time, and that is LOVE.

Believe the love God has for you, receive that love and enjoy all the benefits of your salvation package. It’s paid for in the precious Blood of Jesus. It’s already been released in the Name of Jesus, the Name that is above every name. God loves you so much He sends you the very best, His own Word for you to meditate over and over, not some flimsy Hallmark card. He longs to fellowship with you, and His is much more powerful
than the Fellowship of the Rings. He is much more than the Lord of the Rings, He is the LORD of Lords, the Rose of Sharon, the Lilly of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star, the Prince of Peace, the King of Glory, the Amen and He is from Everlasting to Everlasting.

Meditate on God’s Word of love for you over and over, say it to yourself again and again all day, “I believe I receive the love God has for me.” Once it gets down into the depths of your heart, you’ll never be the same and every day will be Valentine’s Day for you.
