Malcolm in the MiddleLet
us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain
mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16) There are some who suggest the only way to get to God is through them but Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to [God] the Father except through Me. (John 14:6) There is the great teacher who has the final word on Bible teaching. There is the father who must bless our acts or hear our confessions. There is the spiritual master or guru who will tell us what God wants us to do. But the truth of Jesus message for man-made religion is to remove these middlemen from Malcolm X to Malcolm in the Middle and dial God direct through the power of prayer. Jesus is not saying that we don’t need teachers, pastors, ministers, evangelists, prophets, apostles, priests, elders, or counselors. He is saying that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ and have equal access to God the Father. We can boldly approach the throne of grace for help in time of need, and we all can pray in the mighty Name of Jesus and say Amen. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17) Simplify your faith by seeking God for yourself as you spend time in His Word day and night. No confusing ceremonies necessary, no mysterious rituals required, no funny language to understand, no statues to kiss, no beads to wear, no icons to admire, no humans to worship, no fancy vestments, and no elaborate channels of command or levels of access are needed. If you have a Bible, then you can study. If you have a heart, then you can pray. If you have a mind, then you can renew it with the Word of God. (Romans 12:2) Seek the simple faith, major on the majors, study the Word, obey it and come boldly to the throne of God.Copyright © 2003 Eddy Ministries. All rights reserved.
