Beautiful Mind
“For
‘who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?’
But we have the mind of Christ [and hold the thoughts, feelings, and
purposes of His heart].” (1 Corinthians 2:16)
The Oscar winner A Beautiful Mind is a 2001 biopic directed by Ron Howard
about John Forbes Nash, a math genius who overcame years of schizophrenia
to win the Nobel Prize in economics. Russell Crowe may have won a Best
Actor Oscar for portraying a beautiful mind as envisioned by Hollywood,
but in God’s eyes a mind is not beautiful unless it is the mind
of Christ. The good news is that you can hold the thoughts, feelings
and purposes of God’s heart in your own heart, and it is a great
thrill to know that Elohim, the Creator of heaven and earth, wants to
be one spirit with you and transmit His powerful thoughts to your human
mind.
The Bible in 1 Corinthians
6:17 says that when you were joined to the Lord you became one spirit
with Him. That’s right, God Almighty came into union with you so
that He can talk to you not just face to face, but heart to heart. The
God of the universe wants you in complete harmony with Him so that His
thoughts can become your actions to change the world one soul at a time.
God wants you to walk so intimately with Him that you never lack His
burden-removing, yoke-destroying power to overcome the Dr Evil and Mini
Me of this world. He wants you to be so in tune with the Holy Spirit
that you are able to feel His heart of love and compassion to those
who are hurting, unsaved, backslidden, lost or burdened with sickness,
poverty, suffering, oppression and pain. God wants to be one with you,
so He can reach out through your hands and fulfill His purposes on earth
to preach the gospel of salvation to every creature. (Mark 16:15)
Renew your commitment
on Labor Day to walk closely with God as you labor in His Word day after
day. As you seek His face, give attention to the Holy Spirit in your inner
man. Yield to His voice of love and not to the selfish voices of the world,
the flesh, or the devil. Renew your mind (Romans 12:2) with the Word of
God daily and allow the beautiful mind of Christ, the Messiah or the Anointed
One and His Anointing, to flow majestically through you.
