Wisdom is the Word

“Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of My mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will preserve [make you whole] you. Love her, and she will keep [protect] you.” (Proverbs or Mishlei 4:5-6)

After 911, God has been raising up an increasing number of people who are spiritually hungry. Hungry to know God in a more intimate, deeper way, to serve Him in churches and synagogues, in mission fields, in homes, in offices, in gyms, on the air and the internet, at Starbucks with a whole latte love and anywhere else He might choose to send them.

They are people who simply aren’t content to find the path of least resistance, the road well travelled and breeze their way into heaven. NO, they’re determined to run the Olympian race as the apostle Paul said, to obtain the prize, to go for the gold, to put the pedal to the medals. Spiritually speaking, they are on the road to excellence with the spirit of excellence that was on the prophet Daniel as he governed Babylon.

Are you among them? Do you want to? If yes, then you need to know that John Travolta and Olivia Newton John can’t help you and Grease is not the word. Wisdom is the Word, for the wisdom of God is the Word of God. Knowing the wisdom of God by studying the Word and putting the Word FIRST in your life will give you a beautiful mind and will enable you to run the race like a winner. You don’t be have to be an Oscar winner like Russell Crowe to have a beautiful mind as Hollywood would lead you to believe. All you need is the Word of God in your heart and let it renew your carnal mind daily. It’s OK to lose your mind, as long as you perform a mind quadruple bypass with the Word of God, the Holy Spirit, the Name and the Blood of Jesus.

Whether your goal is to be an excellent evangelist, preacher, pastor, rabbi, wife, producer or Wall Street merchant banker in the service of God, it is the wisdom that comes from the Word of God that will get you there, not the talents of Mr Ripley nor the subterfuges of Enron. Jesus said: “Seek FIRST the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and ALL these things [that you seek] shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).

Commit to do whatever it takes to fill yourself with the Word of God. Multitask and use every moment to read, study, listen to, and meditate on it. Read these daily edifying emails over and over, check out the website for other articles you may have missed and meditate on them. You can’t take it easy like the Eagles if you’ve made a decision to be a Joe Somebody in the kingdom of God. If you are determined to take the Great Commission seriously to finance or preach the Word to the billions who are lost and dying, then be diligent to make your calling and election sure. Put the Word of God first, get wisdom and get understanding, and there will surely be glorious victories ahead for the harvest is NOW.
