A Beautiful Mind

“And DO NOT be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)

You are made perfect on the inside, born again in the image of God Himself. But outwardly do you find yourself falling short of that Godly perfection? The solution lies in the renewing of your mind. According to Philippians 2:5, we are to allow the mind of Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One and His Anointing, to be in us. Romans 12:2 tells us that, if you’ll renew your mind, you can actually be transformed like the Mighty Morphin’s Power Rangers, which also transformed its owner Haim Saban into a billionaire and Hollywood heavyweight with his recent sale to Disney. The word transformed is translated from the Greek metamorpho from which we get metamorphosis which describes how a caterpillar becomes a butterfly.

The word metamorpho is also used in the Bible in two other places. One is when Jesus was transfigured on the Mount of Transfiguration as He spoke with Moses and Elijah which represented the fulfilment of the Law and the Prophets. The other is found in 2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from [our level of] glory to [His level of] glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord [the Holy Spirit].”

Metamorphized, morphed, changed, transformed, transfigured! Those are powerful words, and they describe what will happen to you as you spend time beholding God in the Word and in prayer. As you spend time renewing your mind by reading these emails daily, your outer being will be transformed in the same way a caterpillar is changed into a butterfly. Instead of conforming to the image of Hollywood or the world, you’ll conform to the image of the reborn spirit inside you which is created in righteousness, Godliness and holiness. That, my friend, is a Best Picture Oscar winner in God’s eyes.

Make time to get away from the world to study God’s Word. Meditate on the Word and let it change you from the inside out. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind and release the spiritual butterfly within you, something that Muhammad Ali never had. Not only will you float like a butterfly, but your sting will be much more powerful than a bee for God has given you power to tread on serpents and scorpions. Let God be the LORD of your ring and have fellowship with Him. You need to hobnob with God and Elijah here on earth, not a bunch of hobbits and Elijah Wood in Middle Earth. You don’t have to be a Nobel Prize winner mathematician like John Nash with a mental disorder to have a beautiful mind. A beautiful mind is yours when you lose your mind and take on the mind of Christ. You need to think like God for His thoughts are far above your thoughts and His ways are far above your ways (Isaiah 55:8). With God on your side, you can forget about Ed McMahon or those Publishers Clearinghouse sweepstakes because you ARE already a winner – Oscar, Nobel or otherwise.
