Treasure Island

“The sower sows the word... satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts” (Mark 4:14-15)

Do you know that you are a treasure island having hidden inside you a treasure that can change the world? A treasure that will give you eternal life, that can take you to heaven and save you from hell. A treasure that can turn a person’s poverty into prosperity, his sickness into divine health, his sorrow into joy, his defeat into victory. NO, you don’t have to go to Las Vegas or read a novel to find this treasure. You have inside you the
all-powerful Word of God, the wealth of which is beyond what the Count of Monte Cristo or the upper crust at Gosford Park could even imagine.

Your treasure chest is in your heart where you meditate and retain the Word of God. The map to the treasure is the written Word of God itself. The actual treasure is the blessings, promises and benefits of salvation God has for you from the foundation of the world. Don’t keep it to yourself, sow it generously wherever you go. Sow it into the hearts of those you meet like I am doing with these emails. Share it at every opportunity, at work, at home, at the gym, at the store, at the post office, at the dry cleaner, at the laundromat, at the movies and restaurants, even at Starbucks. You may wimp out and say “I don’t know how or I don’t have the time or the gift!” Then start in 3 easy steps and stop those lame excuses.

  1. Make up your mind and heart today that you are going to share the Word of God with others no matter what! Determine right now that it’s the most important thing you’ll ever do and commit to it. After that, the rest is easy.

  2. Prepare yourself. Spend time meditating in the Word each day by at least reading these emails. Allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you for that will make it easy for you to minister to others. You’ll be sensitive to the leadings of the Holy Spirit and be able to hear His voice. He’ll help you know what to say and do in each situation for it is God’s will that you sow the Word.

  3. Stay in faith. Once you’ve shared the Word with someone, trust God for the results. The Word of God does not return to Him void and God watches over His Word to perform it. Even if it appears the Word of God had no effect over the circumstances, keep believing anyway for God’s Word is the final authority. Your faith will keep that Word alive inside them, and eventually, it will do its transforming work.

No man is an island, but YOU are an island with a treasure that can change the world, a treasure that lasts from here to eternity. What are you going to do with it today? If you don’t share it or use it, the Pirates of the Caribbean, Captain Hook or worse, the buccaneers of satan, will attempt to steal the Word, put up stony grounds or sow thorns to keep you and others from getting the Word. Be a swashbuckler for God and rule the high seas as you captain the HMS Invincible to win the lost and oppressed from the sea of humanity for His kingdom.
