Favor Isn’t Fair “So
Joseph found FAVOR in his [Potiphar’s] sight and served him. Then
he made him overseer of his house, and ALL that he had he put in his
[Joseph’s] authority.” The Bible is replete with stories of favor beginning with Joseph who rose to become the second most powerful man in Egypt after Pharaoh. The favor of God can get you what your faith and your work cannot. Favor is never based on work, but sometimes we get favor because we have worked and we have been faithful and obedient to God and His Word. With the favor of God, you may never have to ask someone to do a favor for you again. With the favor of God, you will enjoy the fact that life isn’t fair. With favor, you'll want to serve life without the possibility of parole. Boaz gave Ruth favor to allow her to glean his fields. It was her faith that got her up everyday and got her to work. She was working her faith and believing for daily strength and provision as she submitted to her mother-in-law Naomi and labored in the field. Her faith went to work and got the barley that was in the field. But it was the favor of God that caused her to OWN ALL the field! Her faith obtained her daily provisions, but it was God's FAVOR that gave her a lifetime of wealth and riches and a husband to boot. Esther's faith caused her to spend six months in preparation. Her faith caused her to submit to the preparations to be able to go before the Persian King, to win the beauty contest and to become queen. But it was FAVOR that foiled Haman’s wicked plot and obtained deliverance for the entire Jewish people! (Esther 2) David had faith to stay behind to humbly serve while his brothers were military strategists at the center of the action. It was faith that caused David to obey his father Jesse to bring food to his brothers. But it was the favor of God that caused Him to kill Goliath and in no time his fame increased as they sang, “Saul has slain his thousands and David his ten thousands!” (1 Samuel 17-18) The favor of God is on its way! Friends, I am believing for the favor of God upon your life, family, business and ministry for the set time is NOW. A moment of God’s favor is worth a lifetime of labor. There is a favor coming toward you that will set you free! Your faith walked you here as you savor the daily Word of God in your email, but favor is going to launch you from where your faith walked on. In God’s favor is eternal and abundant life and the power and the glory of God! God’s anger with you is but for a moment, but His favor on you is for life. “For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; with FAVOR You will surround him as with a shield” (Psalm 5:12) “For His anger is but for a moment; His FAVOR is for life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5) “You will arise and have mercy [chesed] on Zion: for the time to FAVOR her, yes, the set time, has come.” (Psalm 102:13) “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in FAVOR with God and men.” (Luke 2:52) This is the fourfold increase mentally, physically, spiritually and socially. God’s Word promises favor and obedience to the Word of God increases the favor of God! A moment of the favor of God is worth a lifetime of blood, sweat and tears. If God gave His Very Best which is His Only Begotten Son Jesus, how much more will He give the rest to us! There’s favor on the other side of your faithful obedience! There’s goodness and pleasure, joy unspeakable and full of glory on the other side of your submission to His Word. God has given you ALL things richly to enjoy.
