The Time MachineMy times are in Your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me (Psalm 31:15) We rush and hurry trying to do everything. With the rush our adrenaline level increases causing elevated blood pressure along with other harmful effects to our health. Many of us are so busy we just don’t have time for God. Rushing to get ready for work. Thinking about the day ahead. Getting the kids ready for school. How do you find quiet time when things are far from being quiet on the western front? Evenings might be the solution with the kids asleep and problems all solved for the day. But it is hard to have a quiet time when you fall asleep from exhaustion or have stressful thoughts constantly roaming your mind from the day you have been through. So, what is the solution, or is there one? I don’t have it but I know One who does. Who invented time? In whose hands are the times of our lives? God the Creator! God is the authorized builder of the Time Machine, not Guy Pearce. God sees the end from the beginning. How can God do anything to improve my schedule or organize my life? God is the master scheduler, the master organizer. He created the universe and all creation on a schedule that would be a nightmare for anyone else. Six days He created and rested on the seventh. How can God do anything with our lives? You may be thinking it would take a miracle but you have to remember our God is a God of miracles. He is used to making the impossible into the possible. He created the universe by simply speaking things into existence, calling those things that be not as though they were (Romans 4:17). The bottom line is that if we trust God with our time by investing in prayer, Bible study and meditation, church attendance, and doing good works the time will not be lost. Instead, God will redeem the time manifold by organizing and improving our lives. Quality time will be increased. God was an expert at quality time or down time long before it became popular. Our energy level will increase and our health will improve from what it would have been without God. When you are too busy to pray, too busy to read His Word, too busy to go to church then you are too busy to receive God’s blessings. The truth is those are the times when you need to pray even more, read His Word more, be more faithful in church attendance, tithing and giving. Try it for God will not disappoint you as you can’t outgive God!! Need more time? You will not get time from a Hollywood movie, a book or a Cindy Lauper song. ASK the timeless, eternal Creator of space and time, sow time with God like I am doing every day and you will reap even more quality time and enjoy the God kind of life.
