Don’t Say a Word“Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Proverbs 18:21) “Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles.” (Proverbs 21:23) To live a life of blessing and abundance, you just have to make your word agree with what God says. There’s no two ways about it. As time flies and the circumstances around you refuse to budge, it can be difficult and even painful to keep on speaking God’s Word all the time. But you have to do it if you ever want your harvest of restoration, favor, increase, promotion, wholeness and blessing to come in. Unfortunately, many believers don’t last that long. They start sowing but when they don’t see results, when the bank account gets below zero, the 401K gets Enroned, the IRS gets lien and mean, the employer gets shredded, and the mortgage is past due, they get discouraged and begin to speak words of lack, poverty, depression and defeat. They induced crop failure with the words of their own mouth, and they never get to enjoy the fruit of the harvest. When I started learning about prosperity, I listened to sermons while I was up to my eyeballs in debt and money was tight. But I knew my financial problems didn’t change what the Word of God said. I knew His promises, prosperity and otherwise, were true even if I hadn’t been able to receive them yet. So, even though I felt depressed at times, I just kept on speaking the Word about God’s generous provisions. I later realized that Word was working for me from the first day I believe it and speak it and live my life according to it. My harvest began to grow the moment I started sowing seeds, the simply incorruptible Seed of the Word of God, in the ground. It just took time, just like for any crop in the natural world, for them to bear fruit. The next time you step out in faith, whether it’s in the financial realm or healing of your body or relationships or any other area, keep that in mind. Determine that you’re not going to let that waiting period between seedtime and harvest discourage you. Hang on until harvest time, until the Word of God is manifested in your life for God watches over His Word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12) and His Word will not return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11). When you speak the Word, you’ll never get a Return to Sender message from God. Unlike the Postal Service, God always delivers for you. Put patience to work and keep your words in line. Don’t be like Michael Douglas, Don’t Say a Word unless it’s God’s Word.
