Although on the same boat as William Colling, William Johnson Colling’s body was recovered after its sinking and returned to St. Oswald’s churchyard for burial.  He was the husband of Mary Colling and the son of Benjamin and Mary Colling as well as being the father of William Johnson Colling Jr, whose wartime experiences are documented elsewhere on this site.
