Aruba, from the space shuttle. Venezuela nearby.

How big is it?

Tichy! Aruba is only 19.6 miles long and 6 miles across at its widest point!

What else is nearby?

Aruba is the most southern of the Lesser Antilles islands, also known as the ABC islands - Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao, and the farthest west of that group. It is only 42 miles, (67km) or 20 minutes flight, from Curacao.

Fast Fact. You can never get lost in Aruba - the trade winds make all the divi trees point to the hotel area!

What‘s the weather like?

HOT. With continual outbreaks of HOT. But with the constant cooling trade winds, it is never unbearable. Those trade winds mean Aruba is never humid or ‘sticky’. The evenings are more pleasant, and the beaches are a sun worshipper’s heaven. Highs are between 80-90°F (27-33°C), all year round!

Important weather reason for going to Aruba........

Unlike many other Caribbean islands, Aruba is outside the hurricane belt, so relax. The closest you’ll get to a July-to-November Caribbean hurricane will be via CNN.
And most important of all.....

It hardly ever rains!!

Take our word for it. Rain on Aruba is as rare as a Gordon Brown budget without the word ‘prudence’ in it. Practically non-existent. When it does rain, Aruban gardeners do a little dance, for it’s sorely welcome.

All in all, Aruba is one of the most temperate islands in the Caribbean. The average rainfall is less than 20 inches a year. We get more than that in one day in the Dales!

The average daytime temperature is 82° fahrenheit (27° Celsius. It is TOTALLY outside the hurricane belt! The average difference between day and night temperatures, and between summer and winter emperatures, is just 3.6°.With such constancy, the weather is just as good in January as it is in July!
