Biography
IMAGE was originally going to be two bands formed from one group of friends in response to the Excellence In Crewe 'Musicool' competition (Which was a school thing, where each school in Crewe has their own heat to select a band to represent them, and then a grand final at an entertainment club. We're not saying which school we're from to protect our privacy). One band, featuring Fiona as the singer, Danny and our friend, Jamie, on guitars and Jono on drums (although it's unknown whether Jono ever consented to this. Fiona would have made him anyway). The other band, with Maria on vocals, Ian on piano and again, Jono on drums (there is a shortage of drummers). But then we realised we could combine and make a super band, and our band was formed. Maria singing, Fiona on backing vocals and strings, Danny and Jamie on guitars, Ian on piano and Jono on drums.

The next crisis was the name. Something that wasn't too rocky and wasn't too poppy, like the band. There were many nominations, mostly from Danny and Jamie, who lie awake at night thinking about these things. Fuzzylogic (Danny's idea, and his permanent MSN name), Spoon on the Roof (Jamie's, because he has a spoon on the roof of his house), Cosmic Plectrum (Both of them wanted this. No one else did). We had Shadow and various other titles of that kind before settling on IMAGE, as it was the only one all of us agreed on.

In the run up to Christmas 2004, we spent many lunchtimes practising our cover song, 'So Young' by The Corrs, for the competition heats. Our music teacher attempted to help us, but he's a bit of a twat and basically annoyed us. However, we got roped into playing that Band Aid song for the Christmas assembley, with added musicians, such as our friend Chris on keyboards, and various singers. Fiona now hates that song.

After Christmas, the pressures of school became suddenly worse, and we didn't practise for ages. It was in late January when Jamie decided to quit the band and concentrate on other stuff. It was sad, but we got through it. We started writing our first original song (big event). An extract from it is on the Hear Us page. Although we wrote the verse and chorus early on, we never actually finished it until the night before the heats, which was a bit foolish. But we still won so it didn't matter. The heats was a good thing, as it was the first time we'd performed and got constructive feedback of how we'd done. We have to do much work before the final, but we're going in there with our heads held high like winners. We rock.
