Nothing in specific

Ok, I've had a huge number of obsession recently, and them being as temporary as they are, I am no longer nearly as obsessed. Being a non-obsessed person, writing will be more difficult, thus I will only mention each obsession in brief.

Firstly: Drakan; the Ancients' Gate.
This is a relatively normal third-person fantasy game. It has a diablo-ish set up involving item layout and life bar set up with a relatively good fighting and movement system. Driving controls for walking and an attractive female hero are a part of this game. The main reason I enjoyed the game as much as I did was for the dragon. Aarok (can't quite remember the name) has interesting and well made controls that allow for interesting combat on a dragon.

Second: Star Trek Voyager.

I was never a fan of the Star Trek series. Mostly since I used to watch it when I was 10 and all they seemed to do was talk, though I remember thinking the guy with the visor was pretty cool. Maybe I was 8. Anyway, my friend reintroduced me to the series with Voyager. I don't consider myself a trekky or whatever the word may be, but I love the characters and character development in the show. We've been slowly downloading the series since it's no longer shown on TV.

Third: Sould Caliber 2.

If you haven't heard of this game you probably aren't a gamer and shouldn't be reading anything written here. Not fully true. From what I can tell everyone knows of it, but then again, I'm a console player, not a cpu player. Anyway, Soul Caliber 2 is a fighting game based on swords and other weapons rather than fists and feet. It has a slew of interesting characters, along with the few boring, and a bigger slew of swords. The swords bit is particularly important. My best character is Nightmare. He "si r0xx0rz" or something to that effect.

Fourth: Naruto

A friend of the same friend who recommended Voyager recommended Naruto, an increasingly popular new ninja anime. The show/manga has a sort of typical set up involving some ninja school or whatnot and fills out the base idea nicely with interesting characters and plot. I definitely recommend it for being just as cliche as I want it to be.

Some number-eth: Prince of Persia; the Sands of Time.

I'm so happy they made a new one. I loved, and absolutely detested, original Prince of Persia. This game gets points for the unearthly athletics you can perform, the ease as which you can perform such athletics, and the camera which shows you how awesome your awesome athletics are. Not to mention the beautiful fighting, the enjoyable story, the plot twists, and the dialogue. And graphics... And music.... This is a bloody good game.

No one cares about the number-eth: Warcraft

In particular Battle.net. I've spent countless hours beating the carp out of people online, and also getting the comically spelled fish beaten out of me. DotA, WMW, Werewolf, Loap, and Megaman maul most often, but anything will go if I'm in the mood. I like orcs, Stealth assasin, Mindless void, and Megaman 1. Not much to rant about... Pretty well known game..... There are spiders infesting my house.......

Last temp obsess: Thief; Deadly Shadows

At the time that I am writing this (8/25/04) this is still my obsession. Though it is fading, I love this game. The game combines a strange feel of comic and horror atmospheres to form this game. You play as Garret, an infamous thief with a mechanical eye. You get to steal, kill, sneak, search, pickpocket, lockpick, and pretty much anything else that might get you money. The animation's nice and the game has a heavy atmosphere and pretty good soundtrack. The whole game has a kind of surreal feel to it. I recommend this game to those who have patience. Many friends who've played just got fed up and left. You can't rush stealth...
