Light Baker and the Ring of Slytherin
BOOK ONE (Book 6)
Chapter One
Okay. Here's the scoop. I've gotten part of the first chapter of my story up. I deleted the summary that used to be here (that no one looked at), and I'm just going to say simply that this is a fanfiction. It is hopefully not against any copyright laws that exist for the Harry Potter characters. I'm not insulting Warner Bros, Scholastic, or the English publisher of the HP books in any way, and since I know that JKR tends to surf the internet to check on fans (although I doubt she'll read anything I write, no matter what I say), if you happen to be reading this, I love your work and hope your baby boy and young girl are doing well.
Ahem. Strayed off a second. Anyway, a little history lesson, or biographical lesson, for you. The story of Light Baker has been almost constantly running through my head since her creation on the second to last day of sixth grade. That's a little over three years. Her initial story was that the spirit of Voldemort (this is before the fourth book) taught a young first year Ravenclaw his secrets and then she goes on a psycho killing spree. Great, isn't it? I didn't think so. Over time her story has evolved, becoming more descriptive, more deep, and proudly, more and more Rowling-like as I study her work and take aspects and characteristics of her writing into my own stories (i.e. forboding descriptions. an example of that is in the first chapter, with broomstick sword fighting. Later in the book, Light runs into a certain dark lord on her Nimbus and then ends up doing stuff to him with a sword. No more details, as to not ruin a mid-story climax). It's becoming very complex. It boggles my mind. Drives me nuts, really.
Okay, straying again. Her story has evolved from a girl who goes to the dark side suddenly and murderously, to a girl who slowly and unknowingly becomes manipulated and grows more powerful, to eventually kill a certain professor, who is a certain someone's father, and makes a certain few people freaked out. In the beginning, the story was based solely around her. Her problems, her point of veiw, her pain. I hardly mentioned Harry Potter. NOW, however, after reading the fifth book and gaining a whole new respect for everything, and realizing how easily I could do it, I've decided to kind of create my own ending to the HP series, having the point of veiw coming from both Harry and Light at the same time. Harry's problems and Light's problems kind of weave in and out of each other. It's a really cool effect. But, yes. I follow Harry through the rest of his Hogwarts years, now, and it's really neat.
So, well, the first chapter is half up. Please read it!
I'm hoping to get the whole story written up before the sixth book, seeing as how the fifth book came as close to destroying the whole story as the dementor did to sucking out Harry's soul in the third book...
