The Head Section

This semester I am enrolled in CIS 1013 HTML at Tulsa Community College. I am learning to create web pages by hard-coding in Hypertext Markup Language using Windows Notepad.

In this lesson, I am learning about the "head" section of an HTML document which inculdes the title tag, keywords meta tag, description meta tag, and author meta tag. My meta tags are not visible on this page but will be visible if you view my code (View, Source).

Although the meta tags are not viewable to the website visitor, they are extremely important because search engines use these meta tags and the title in determining the relevancy of my page to a user's query... and I do want my site to be found!
