The Poet has received recognition and acclaim from two newspapers in his hometown.

Former Girard Resident releases book of poetry
BIDDEFORD, Maine- Edward Myers, a former Girard resident and Vindicator Spelling Bee champion (1990 and 1991), has put his vocabulary skills to good use and written a volume of poetry.
Released last month by PublishAmerica, "Shedding Skin" is a collection of narrative poems on various topics culled from notebooks kept by the author. It was titled after Myers' philosophy that "as one goes through life one has to evolve and cast off the shell of one's former existence, much as a reptile sheds its skin."
The work is available from the publisher and online booksellers including Amazon, Borders, and Barnes and Noble.
Myers, who lives in Biddeford, is planning other collections of poetry and a semiautobiographical novel under PublishAmerica.
