After working for BC, I decided I wanted to know more about the people behind the music. So I emailed DJ and asked for an interveiw. Well, here it is. Enjoy.
Munkay:Do you feel that you all have been successful with your new album and touring?
DJ:Are we successful??? lol ..... GREAT!!!!
Munkay:How does it feel to be touring with all these great bands?
DJ:Amazing a dream come true:)
Munkay:Who are some of your influences?
DJ:Van Halen, GnR, Manson Ozzy, Kiss, Kid Rock ect.....
Munkay:Did you have any jobs befor playing in a band?
DJ:I did a comic strip for a newspaper
Munkay:Whats the worst part about touring?
DJ:No sleep
Munkay:How do you feel about the attack on September 11?
DJ:I say find out whos responsible and kill the motherfuckers
Munkay:Now we all know you live in California, But is there anywere eles you consider home?
DJ:We make our selves at home everywhere we go
Rikki Sixx:How did the Beautiful Creatures come together?
Kenny Kweens: 5 guys got together with the same vision and dream. We all wanted to be in a true Rock Band. The band didn't have too many member changes, everything came together quick. Before we knew it we had a record deal.
RS:What song of yours is your favorite?
KK:That's tough, I like them all.
RS:Which song of yours do you wish never existed?
KK: We all worked very hard on all 12 songs. We made the CD we wanted to make. So there isn't a song on the CD the shouldn't be there.
RS:How would you describe the music of the Beautiful Creatures to those who have never heard you before?
KK:Kick Ass Rock and Roll!
RS:Have the band or the audience ever been injured at one of your shows because of one of you?
KK: Not that I know of, I hope not!
RS:What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
KK: I'm an all American guy, I go to bars, strip clubs, concerts, watch sports, and I love driving my 1966 Black Cadillac!
RS:Who would you most like to shag?
KK: I already have
RS:Who would you most like to slap?
KK: Elizabeth Hurley (in a good way)
RS:What is the strangest thing a fan has ever asked you/given to you?
KK: I'm still waiting, I'm strange so it may have happened and I didn't know it!
RS:What is the coolest thing a fan has ever given to you/said to you?
KK: The other night in Virginia, this guy named Greg gave me this really cool net shirt. (see I didn't forget)
RS:What is the strangest thing you have autographed?
KK: A shoe
RS:Are you into the groupie scene?
KK: Yes, they are fans too
RS:Do you have any hidden talents?
KK: Of course, but if I told you they wouldn't be hidden.
RS:Do you have any bad habits?
KK: we all do RS:If your brain melted into a milkshake, what flavor would it be?
KK: A scrambled up mix of flavors, with sprinkles and a Cherry on top
RS:Who are your major influences?
KK: I dig a lot of Different music, older rock, new rock, country, Industrial, Punk, ect. If it's good I like it! As far as bass players go, I like Gene Simmons, Geezer Butler, Dennis Dunnaway, Flea, Twiggy, Duff McKagen, and Rob DeLeo.
RS:You were recently touring with Kiss on their farewell tour and are now touring on Ozzfest. Has being on these tours begun to affect your band yet?
KK: Yes, we are getting a fan base. Without the fans the band is nothing. We named our band after the fans, the freaks, the misfits, the audience, they are all beautiful creatures. we thrive off of our fans.
RS:Where do you see the Beautiful Creatures in 10 years?
KK: The Band-Still Rockin! The Fans-Still Rockin!
