Distinguishing Marks: When on four legs, she had claws and looks like a sphinx. In either form she has yellow skin and yellow eyes, large scars running down her back and a burn mark in the shape of a "M" at the base of her spine.
Relatives: Charles and Rena Jackson (adopted parents).
Clothes: Generally wears black baggy clothes, a pink hooder, a spiked collar and a chain attatched to her trousers.
Powers/Mutations: Heightened senses. Limited Shapeshifting. Limited telepathy.
Extent of Powers: Can follow scents, better eyesight, better hearing etc. Can shift from four-legged to two-legged. When she is on four legs she is more agile and has claws. She can only send messages to people she is close to. However given time and training her powers may develop into full telepathic abilites.
History: Sphinx wasn't born with yellow skin and yellow eyes. She was adopted from birth by a well off couple from Boston. They weren't bad parents, but they did tend to leave her her own devices a lot. When she 12 she ended hanging around with 'the wrong groups of people'. They were a bunch of teenagers, most of whom were older than her, and were all members of a rather extremist branch of FoH.
They would chase down known mutants, and then torture them in the most sadistic ways they could think of. They'd then either leave them to die, or send them off to be experimented on, or some other way of 'aiding the cause'. Sphinx was always more sucessful when chasing down mutants (due to her powers begining to manifest), but no one ever thought much of it. Her mutations emerged when she had just turned 16. She had a strange dream about pharos and ancient Egypt, and woke to find herself with yellow skin, and looking like a Sphinx.
She completely freaked out and locked herself in her room for about a month. She then began to mess around with an image inducer she had taken off another mutant to cover her appearence, and she worked out how to shift back onto two legs. However she was so ashamed with what she was she still wouldn't leave her room. She couldn't handle the fact that she was a mutant. Her parents got so annoyed at her that they eventually threw her out of the house.
As she wandered around, she came across the FoH group she was in. One of them pulled off her image inducer and discovered she had mutated. Then it was her turn to go through the torture. There was one difference this time.
The group felt betrayed by Sphinx so they kept her alive, and put her through worse treatment than usual. She has large scars running down her back from being whipped and a burn at the base of her spine where they branded her. They tortured her for about a month, but then her telepathic powers began to emerge. Any time one of the group came near her, she would send a horrific image of her torturing them in even more sadistic ways. They ignored it for a while, but it got so disturbing that eventually they let her go.
She wanted revenge though. She stalked them, filling their minds with sadistic images, until she nearly drove them insane. After she had her revenge she began to journey around. She has taken to going around picking fights with sentinels.
Personality: She is very sarcastic. She can be really sadistic when she wants to, and has come to the conclusion that most of the human race are idiots. She still feels guilty about how she treated mutants when she was with FoH, and has a lot of pent up anger against them.
She tends to use people a lot, but when she befriends a person or a group, she is fiercly loyal. Deep down behind all the sarcasm and sadisim however, is an lonley child who needs love (aww... lol, well we all need to psycology bit don't we ;) )
Hobbies: She spends a lot of time stargazing, dancing, drinking, and fighting with sentinels.
Likes/Dislikes: She likes fighting with sentinels, having fun and curling up infront of fires/ hates humans and espeicailly FoH. She's also not too fond of Marshmallows and hates cold water.
